Description:
BIOTIN-PEG-MA is one of thiol (-SH) reactive PEG biotin derivatives that can be used to attach biotin molecule to proteins, peptides, particles and other materials surfaces through their reactive maleimide groups. Biotin is a small bioactive molecule that has high affinity toward avidin or streptavidin. Biotin/streptavidin system has been widely used in molecule detection, bioassays and drug delivery applications. Maleimide reacts readily with reduced sulfhydryl group from naturally occurring or mutagenically derived cysteine residues. This reaction proceeds readily at pH 6.5~7.5 to form a stable thioether bond. PEG linker between biotin and maleimide group offers better water solubility, flexible linker structure and enhanced stability. Description
